Just know that the main tradeoff for Aluminum safe detergent is that it usually isn't as good at deep cleaning vs your standard detergents. I would then switch to washing them by hand, or doing some research and digging for dishwasher detergent that is Aluminum safe (unfortunately most of the options that I know of are geared towards commercial kitchens in huge jugs, but there's probably alternatives available in smaller containers). So with that in mind, your best option is probably #1. I don't think All-Clad seals the rims for any of their lineups unfortunately. Otherwise, they will keep degrading in the dishwasher. The only fixes are either switching detergents to something milder, or getting cookware where the rims are sealed. The Aluminum core is what erodes away in the dishwasher. Does anyone have experience with both the D3/D5 and copper core and confirm that the copper core won't get sharp edges in the dishwasher? I'd have to choose option 3 and spend more to get it, but might be worth it. The other option might be to get the copper core. Leaning towards option 1, if nothing else just to get new, clean cookware and $75. So even if I get new D5 replacements, I have to assume the edges will get sharp again if I use the dishwasher. All-Clad has also removed the info from their site saying that SS cookware is dishwasher safe. I don't want the hard-anodized aluminum cookware. One of the most important reasons for choosing SS cookware was being able to safely wash in the dishwasher. Return sharp cookware and get a 50% off credit for a purchase up to $1200 at All Clad.Return sharp cookware and get a hard-anodized replacement set.Return sharp cookware and get the same cookware replacement + $75.I indeed have D5 cookware with sharp edges, as I've washed them regularly in the dishwasher for the past 2 years since I purchased them. I got the email today about being a member of the settlement class.
